Philips 328E1CA Curved Gaming Monitor – Review

The Philips 328E1CA Curved Gaming Monitor is one of those screen cases that if they had some small changes, we would be talking about one of the best screens in the 4K VA category - always considering its price. Of course, this does not mean that the monitor even in its current form is not as remarkable as you can read in our review.

But let's first look at the specs of the screen in detail

The Philips 328E1CA Curved Gaming Monitor has small margins around the screen, always proportional to its size, with a plastic construction that leaves positive impressions. Its design does not follow the logic of gaming monitors, with black dominating, and in combination with its small depth, make the screen ideal for any space.

At the bottom right of the monitor there are five small buttons for navigating the options menu and turning the screen on and off, while at the back we find the following ports: power supply, two HDMI 2.0, one DisplayPort 1.2 input, a 3.5mm audio output , a 3.5mm audio input and two 3 Watts speakers. Unfortunately, the screen does not have a USB hub, and as we have pointed out in our other reviews, we now take its existence for granted.

Its base is folded, and when using the menu buttons we felt the screen shake. In addition, it has only tilt adjustment, without any height adjustment or 90 degree rotation, and supports VESA mount 100 × 100. Note that to attach it to the screen requires a screwdriver, and it is something we have had for a long time to meet on a monitor. The buttons work well, but navigating the options menu is cumbersome and slow. Finally, speakers as expected do not have the best sound performance, and their use is recommended only if you do not have any other speakers or headphones.

The monitor wears a 32-inch VA curved panel from Samsung, with a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels, refresh rate of 60 Hz, curvature 1500R, anti-glare coating, and color coverage over 100% sRGB. The resolution, combined with the size of the screen, we would say is ideal, since it has a good pixel density and does not tire in reading and working.
