Capcom, through a livestream that took place a few hours ago, published a series of information about the next title in the Resident Evil series, Resident Evil Village. The information that became known includes the release date of the title next May, a new gameplay trailer and details about the various versions of the title, such as the Collector's Edition, with an "impressive" statue of Chris Redfield, who appears in the game with seemingly dubious motives.
The Village will continue the story of Ethan Winters from Resident Evil VII, and will transport players to a macabre castle, inhabited by giant vampire women and full of zombie swords, and huge ogre-like beasts.
Ethan's arsenal has also been "expanded and upgraded", and a new dealer, named "The Duke", will be available at various points during our journey, offering a variety of items and weapons.
Note also that we had the confirmation that the title will make its appearance on previous generation systems (PS4 and Xbox One) alongside the title versions for the Xbox Series X / S and PlayStation 5. Note that those who get the Resident Evil Village, will be able to get Resident Evil Re: Verse, a separate multiplayer title, for free, with characters and monsters appearing during the 25 years of the series.
Regarding the two special editions that will be released by Resident Evil Village, we will have the Digital Deluxe and the Collector’s Edition. Digital Deluxe will offer exclusive safe room music, Mr. Everywhere collectible, a found-footage filter, a tape desk save device, the Albert-01 Chris gun, The Tragedy of Ethan Winters and an extra degree of difficulty, the "Max Difficulty".
Resident Evil Village will be released for Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC (with free next-gen upgrade via Smart Delivery) on May 7, 2021. For PS5 owners, a demo for the title, with the name "Maiden".
