PS4: Production of most models in Japan is stopped

According to reports from GameWatch, Sony Interactive Intertainment is discontinuing production of the PS4 Pro console (CUH-7000 series) in Japan, as well as most models of the PS4 console (CUH-2000 series).

As it became known, this news concerns all versions of the PS4 console with 1TB of storage and the white of 500GB - along with all versions of the PS4 Pro, as the only PS4 console model, which will now be sold in the Japanese market, will be the "basic" console PS4 Slim, black (Jet Black) with 500GB of storage.

In addition, the availability of all the other versions mentioned above will cease to exist for the country of the Rising Sun, as soon as the last, current stock that is currently in domestic stores is sold. Sony's decision reflects its desire to further boost production of the PS5 by directing more of its production factors to it.

Please note that this news does not mean that Sony's support for the console is discontinued. As Jim Ryan, head of PlayStation, himself said, the transition period from PS4 to their exclusive focus on the PS5 is expected to last until 2022, as they consider the huge installed base of the console to be particularly important.

At present, there is no relevant confirmation of the validity of the above information in the western market.
