We do not currently have any official position on this issue from Sony / Santa Monica Studio, and therefore this is, of course, nothing more than a rumor, but it is worth until the time of official confirmation.

The next title of the God of War series was officially unveiled last September and -as it seems- will be called "God of War: Ragnarök". Its release is set for 2021 and the possibility of it being a cross-gen title remains more than likely, given other similar cases of new, cross-gen titles, such as Sackboy: A Big Adveture, Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Horizon Forbitten West.
