New horror title by the creator of Silent Hill

Earlier this month we learned that Keiichiro Toyama, creator and director of Silent Hill at Konami, and later Siren and Gravity Rush at Sony, left Sony and founded a new independent development studio, Bokeh Game Studio. In addition to Toyama in the new development studio, there are Kazunobu Sato - producer of The Last Guardian - and Junya Okura - game designer of Gravity Rush-. Although the above three names are definitely a promising series of talents, we did not know any details about the first game of the newly established development studio, other than that it would be an action title.

That's changed as Toyama revealed in a new interview with IGN that more information about his new project and Silent Hill fans should be particularly happy. According to Toyama, his new title is an "action-adventure title that will appeal to fans of his previous work", including both battles and story elements. Although, according to him, we should not expect a "pure-blooded survival horror title".

If nothing else, this will be more of a horror game. But we will focus on making it a broader entertainment experience, rather than a tough horror game. We are developing with computers as the main platform, but we hope to release the game on as many console platforms as possible.

Based on Toyama's description, it looks like the new game will be a mix between Silent Hill and Gravity Rush, which definitely looks interesting. Of course we should not expect the title to be on store shelves soon, as according to producer Kazunobu Sato, the project is still in an initial phase of prototype and will probably not be available for at least three years.
